About Me

Hi, so ... um ... who am I ...

My name is Paul Pettit and I've been in the IT/computer/technology industry for 20 years now. Maybe not as long as many but hey, had some detours along the way. I've held positions from management to field tech to CIO and currently I have my own company (which you'd know if you've read my posts), while I still do "freelance" work. I've worked at small businesses, non-profits, and Fortune 500 major corporations, a rather eclectic collection of places really.

All the while I've worked in IT I've always been involved with virtualization. I was a CCA in the Metaframe XP/1.8 days and I've always kept my hands on the newest tech in that arena. I've also worked with a variety of technology from Cisco to Microsoft and other across the board. I've done programming and scripting though I'd not consider myself some kind of expert, just a coder that gets it right more often than not.

I simply love technology in all facets. From the simple to the hideously complex. I think that technology, especially virtualization, will change life for all of us for the better making things like Quality-of-Life improve as we decouple the workforce from the office cube-farm. That plus I welcome our robot overlords ... j/k!

Personally I have a wonderful family, a wonderful wife, 2 children, 3 dogs, 3 cats, and a car. I like golf but rarely get out. I like cooking out, camping and enjoying life. Pretty much boring and normal. Oh and I'm an avid gamer, both online and old school pen and paper.

Glad to meet you. Come back and visit when you can.

Peace.
